March 19 Extended Deadline For Comments

(TRENTON) – The New Jersey Department of Agriculture is extending the time for comment to the proposed new rules at N.J.A.C. 2:33 Agricultural Fairs. The rules in this chapter expired September 2, 2016, therefore, the expired rules were proposed as new rules. Because of an unanticipated delay in publication of this Notice of the proposed new rules, the comment period is extended from January 6, 2017 to March 19, 2017. The proposed new rules are without change from the expired rules. The proposed rules, without change, provide the requirements which must be met for a fair to qualify as an “Official Agricultural Fair,” and thereby be eligible for a license to conduct amusement games at a reduced annual fee and participate in distribution of State monies for expenses, should such monies become available.

Full text of the proposal and all impact statements appeared in the New Jersey Register dated November 7, 2016. A copy of the proposal can also be obtained by visiting the Department’s website at   http://www.nj.gov/agriculture/rule/ where there is a link to the New Jersey Register.

The time for submission of comments has been extended to March 19, 2017.

Comments may be submitted to Tom Beaver, Director, Division of Markets and Development, Dept. of Agriculture, P.O. Box 330, Trenton, NJ 08625-0330. Or by email at proposedrulesmarkets@ag.state.nj.us
