– In a joint effort between the NJ Office of Information Technology and the Board of Public Utilities Communication, Case Management and IT teams, and the help of many staffers throughout the agency, we are proud to unveil the first phase of the new Board of Public Utilities website.
Much of the groundwork has been laid to get us to the end of phase one: a streamlined and easy to use site that matches other state websites. Many BPUers have contributed to the new site with the goal of offering useful, clear, and user-friendly information for NJ’s ratepayers.
The new website includes the following sections:
- About the BPU
Here you will find the BPU’s mission statement, directions to our offices, FAQs, and the commissioners’ bios.
Each division appearing on the Board agenda has a page that describes the division’s work and offers links to relevant sites and documents.
- Commercial Customers
This area of the website is dedicated to business and commercial ratepayers. Information on the Office of the Business Ombudsperson and programs for businesses are showcased here.
This News Room is your source for the latest information about BPU, including press releases and event information and photos.
- Residential Customers
This section offers information just for residential customers such as conservation tips, a utility term glossary, contact information, and a section just for kids.
- Customer Assistance
This area of the website contains information about the Division, as well as provides assistance program info, complaint forms, and utility contact info.
- Board Agenda Business
This section is dedicated to all things Board Agenda-including the Board Agenda Meeting Schedule and agendas, public hearings and searchable board orders. Currently only 2007 documents are posted, but Phase 2 of the website will include a more complete database.
Phase 2 is already underway, and again will take the coordinated effort of staff from every division to make sure that the most important and relevant information is easily accessible to the public.
