The AoA is the federal government agency responsible for taking the lead in issues dealing with older Americans. This site includes useful information such as full text of the AoA Update (newsletter), listings of state agencies on aging and AoA regional offices, a statistical profile of older Americans, information about the Older Americans Act, and the National Institute on Aging 'Age Pages'. It also features the Eldercare Locator - a toll-free information and referral service that helps locate services and programs for older people across the country.

Medicaid Database – Kaiser Family Foundation

The Kaiser Family Foundation has introduced an online database, with information on Medicaid benefits in the 50 states, DC, and the U.S. territories. Information provided is comprehensive, with information about benefits covered by each state, for what populations the benefits are available, and the limitations, co-payments and payment rules that apply to the benefits. The database is searchable by Medicaid benefit as well as by state.

This is the official Medicare website where you can read about Medicare coverage information and frequently asked Medicare questions You can look at or download Medicare publications. Medigap Compare, Medicare + Choice Compare, Nursing Home Compare allow you to look at the companies selling Medicare supplements in your state, the HMO and POS plans available in your county, and the nursing homes in your area/state. Search tools are at the site to get information about dialysis facilities, participating physicians and suppliers, and other health websites.
