Purpose: It was the goal of the New Jersey Department of Education in 2007 to create a new discretionary grant program to build upon the successes of the 2003-2006 Tech-Prep Grant Program. Through a limited competitive discretionary grant, Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act federal funds were distributed in FY 2008 to nine secondary school districts operating state-approved career and technical education programs and/or Tech-Prep programs of study to modify existing programs of study, or develop new Tech-Prep programs of study in accordance with federal regulations [Section 203(c)(2)(A)-(G)], and the definitions of concentrators and completers set forth by the NJDOE. The Tech-Prep Grant Program is a multi-year discretionary grant program that will provide the selected school districts with continued funding from 2007-2010. This NGO document is for the second year of the grant (2008-2009 – FY 2009).
Eligible Agencies: The FY09 Tech-Prep Grant Program is a continuation grant program open to the Tech-Prep consortia in New Jersey that were funded in year one as listed in the NGO document.
