While the primary purpose of the Center is to provide a community resource to handle wildlife questions and concerns, of equal importance are the educational opportunities we provide. We believe that education is the key to a peaceful coexistence among the varied inhabitants of our area.

A group of animals with permanent disabilities are sheltered and cared for at the Center. These animals travel with us to schools and community events throughout the year, acting as ambassadors for their wild counterparts. A nomimal fee is required for these education programs.

Our education programs include the following topics:

• Nocturnal vs. diurnal animals
  
  
• Animals that are herbivores, carnivores, or omnivores
  
  
• Natural history of each species
  
  
• When and how to intervene
  
  
• Any general subjects that are currently of interest, including chemicals, pollution, diseases, habitat destruction, and conservation

Our programs are age appropriate in language and content. To help reinforce the topics we discuss during the presentation, we also bring live birds and mammals for participants to observe.
