H1N1 Information

Facts

The swine-origin influenza A (H1N1) virus infection continues to grow in the United States and other countries. CDC and its partners are working to lower its spread and severity.
This H1N1 flu virus is contagious and spreads from person to person through coughing or sneezing.
You cannot get H1N1 flu from eating pork or pork products.

Take Action

Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
If you get sick, stay home from work or school. Limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
