TRENTON, N.J. -Mercer County will hold Family Fun and Safety Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Sunday, October 5, at Mercer County Park. The annual Family Fun and Safety Day is free of charge and coincides with the start of National Fire Prevention Week. The event is sponsored by the Mercer County Sheriff's Office, the Mercer County Emergency Communications Office, the Mercer County Firemen's Association, and the Mercer County Commission on Abused, Neglected, and Missing Children.

In addition to special emergency-related giveaways, the public will also be treated to an up close view of a variety of emergency response vehicles, including the Sheriff's new Mobile Communications Vehicle. Families can also obtain free information on fire prevention and crime prevention from the Mercer County Sheriff's Office.

Along with tours of fire engines and other emergency vehicles and the chance to meet sheriff's officers and firefighters, attendees will also be treated to music from a live DJ, face painting, a magic show, pony rides, a canine demonstration, and games.
