TRENTON, N.J. - For a fun, affordable activity this holiday weekend, just right for people of all ages, look no further than Mercer County’s Public Ice Skating Center. The skating center, located at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, is open to the public seven days a week during the operating season, which runs November to March.

“We’re so proud of our Skating Center, which underwent a facelift a few seasons ago,” said Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes. “For less than the price of a movie ticket, visitors can get a bit of exercise, warm up and wind down by the fireplace with a cup of hot cocoa and share time with friends and family.”

The Skating Center has a full snack bar, dining tables, vending machines, skate rentals, a skate sharpening service and lockers. The center offers general public skating sessions, family night sessions, birthday parties and ice time for hockey. Group lessons are offered, as are private lessons given by County skating professionals. The Skating Center offers group rates, and private party rentals on Wednesday and Sunday evenings.

Hours are Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; Fridays, 8:30-10:30 p.m.; Senior Skate (62 and older), Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9-10 a.m.; Saturdays, 1-3:30 p.m., 5-7 p.m. and 8-10 p.m.; Sundays 1-3:30 p.m. Ticket prices are: Adults, $7; Junior (11 and under), $5; and Seniors, $5.
