TRENTON, N.J. - Don’t search for a new job alone.

The Mercer County One-Stop Career Center in Trenton holds free seminars each month that are open to anyone looking for a boost in hunting for a job. Seminars in September include “Résumé Writing”, “Interviewing 101”, and “Taking Charge of Your Job Search.”

These helpful seminars are just some of the services job seekers can access at the center, located at 26 Yard Avenue in Trenton. The One-Stop staff can also offer career guidance, assist with online job searches, help qualify individuals for unemployment benefits, and locate many other resources that may be needed such as transportation and child care.

“The One-Stop Career Center exists for a singular purpose, and that is to help anyone who wants to advance their career,” said Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes. “I encourage anyone who is job hunting, or who just wants to polish their job skills, to check out what One-Stop has to offer.”

Seminars and other services are open to anyone in Mercer County and also those who live outside the county. Most materials are provided by One-Stop, but participants are encouraged to bring copies of their résumés. Participants must register for each class by submitting their name and phone number to Jessica Rivera at (609) 989-6989 or Once a person is registered, he or she will be entered into a database and will receive calls if his or her skill set matches open jobs available.

Seminars for September are: “Résumé Writing”, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 10; “Taking Charge of Your Job Search”, 2-3 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 14; “Interviewing 101”, 10-11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 17; and “Interviewing 102”, 10-11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 24.

Mercer County One-Stop operates from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and has extended hours until 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. Seminars are held each month.
