-- Many people who are facing foreclosure can get easily overwhelmed and believe nothing can be done to salvage the situation. Millions of families have struggled through similar difficulties these past few years. Every situation is different, but there are a range of options for people in various stages of the process, whether you are struggling to make payments or are behind on payments.

On June 7, 10 a.m. to noon at Mercer County Connection, the Mercer County Division of Consumer Affairs and the Affordable Housing Alliance will present a free workshop to people seeking help for their mortgage woes. Topics to be covered include: Options when you are behind on your payment, foreclosure timeline, Lis Pendens Notices, assistance programs, loan modification and mortgage scams, meditation programs, Sheriff’s role in foreclosure, and life after foreclosure.

Mercer County Connection is located on Route 33 at Paxson Avenue, in the Acme Shopping Center. The program is free, but seats are limited. Please call 890-9800 to reserve your seat.
