Mercer County Offices Closed For Thanksgiving Holiday


TRENTON, N.J.—Most Mercer County offices and facilities will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22, and Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, in observance of Thanksgiving.

The following County offices will be closed both days and will reopen for business on Monday, Nov. 26: McDade Administration Building (640 South Broad St.); Criminal Courthouse (209 South Broad St.); Civil Courthouse (275 South Broad St.); County Clerk’s Office and the County Surrogate’s Office. The County’s LIHEAP program will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22, and Friday, Nov. 23, and will reopen for business Monday, Nov. 26. County Connection will be open for business on Saturday, Nov. 24.

The following County offices and facilities will remain open: Trenton-Mercer Airport (except for administrative offices); Correction Center; the County Sheriff’s Office; and the Emergency Services Communication Center, (350 Lawrence Station Road, Lawrence).

The following offices or facilities will have modified hours:

Mercer County Tennis Center, open Thanksgiving Day from 7:30 a.m. to noon and regular hours Friday, Nov. 23, 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Outdoor courts are open, weather permitting. Mercer County Skating Center, closed Thanksgiving Day and open Friday, Nov. 23, with skate sessions 10 a.m. to noon, 1 to 3 p.m. and 7:45 to 10 p.m. Mountain View Golf Course, open Thanksgiving Day with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. and closed the rest of the day; open Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mercer Oaks (West & East Courses), open Thanksgiving Day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; open Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Princeton Country Club is closed. The Park Commission will hold its third annual “Golf Gift Card Doorbuster Sale” on Black Friday.  Customers who purchase $100 in gift cards will receive an additional $20. A maximum of $500 in gift cards can be purchased. Gift cards can be purchased in person at Mountain View and Mercer Oaks, or online at

The Equestrian Center will be closed Thanksgiving Day but will be open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23. The Wildlife Center will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thanksgiving Day and Friday, Nov. 23. The Howell Living History Farm will be closed both Thursday and Friday, but reopen with hayrides and wreath and sleighbell sales on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All branches of the Mercer County Library System will be closed on Thanksgiving Day; however, the Ewing, Hickory Corner, Lawrence and West Windsor branches will be open on Friday, Nov. 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. All branches return to normal hours on Saturday and Sunday.
