TRENTON, N.J. - Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes announced today that Frontier Airlines will expand its low-fare service at Trenton-Mercer Airport in Ewing with the addition of nonstop service to Northeast Florida Regional Airport in St. Augustine/Jacksonville, beginning May 2, 2014. To celebrate this announcement, Frontier is offering fares as low as $49 each way if purchased by Feb. 8, 2014.
"The Mercer County region's appeal to Frontier Airlines and its customers continues to grow, and the addition of this route to historic St. Augustine, Florida, offers travelers another opportunity to explore both of these exciting destinations," Hughes said.
In fall 2013, Mercer County’s Trenton-Mercer Airport underwent a rapid, multi-million dollar overhaul, the bulk of it paid for through federal grant dollars. The airport reopened Nov. 8 and is earning high marks from the traveling public.
“It took a great team effort to complete our renovations within the tight two-month window,” Hughes said, “and we are thrilled that Frontier Airlines continues to expand its slate of destinations from Trenton-Mercer Airport.”
