Minimum Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Minimum age requirement 18 years

  • Educational pre-requisite - h.s. Diploma

  • All males must register with selective service

Evaluation process
  • Must pass civil service exam for sheriff's officer

  • Must successfully complete the following:
    • Intensive background investigation
    • Psychological examination
    • Physical examination
    • Interview by appointing authority (sheriff)


    Upon selection as a sworn law enforcement officer you will be required to attend and successfully complete a certified police academy (at least 20 weeks)
