Commissioner Richard E. Williams
Richard E. Williams’ distinguished career in public service includes 42 years in Somerset County Government, culminating in a 21-year term as County Administrator.
Beyond the day-to-day responsibilities of running County government, Mr. Williams was an advocate for some of the County’s most progressive initiatives, including the success of TD Bank Ballpark and the Somerset Patriots; facilitating a unique agreement that led to the construction of a new headquarters for the Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills that included a Somerset County Office on Aging component, and establishment of the Somerset County Improvement Authority.
He is also a longtime advocate for infrastructure renewal and served as head of the County’s Economic Development program.
