Course Description

The purpose of the advanced Security Awareness (SANS) training is to provide State employees additional training about information security in targeted areas. It is important that employees protect the State of New Jersey’s intellectual property, infrastructure, and any personal or confidential information.  This training course concentrates on specific information that employees may work with or are exposed to specific areas including health information, educational records, personal identifiable information, tax information and other areas of importance.  There is also a dedicated section to senior leadership in an agency.

  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA)
  • Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

  • Federal Personally Identifiable Information (Federal PII)
  • Federal Tax Information
  • Red Flags Rule
