Director, Division of Housing & Community Resources

Paul G. Stridick has been the Director of the Division of Housing & Community Resources since January, 2009.  Mr. Stridick has been with the Department of Community Affairs since 2000 and has served the Department previously as Chief of Policy, Programs and Planning; Director of the Division of Community Resources; Deputy Director of the Division of Housing; and State Coordinator of Main Street New Jersey.

Mr. Stridick has served as a Senior Associate at Costanza Spector Clauser Architects, Project Manager for Granary Associates Architects, and as a Project Architect for Sussna Design Office.  He served on the Merchantville Borough Council from 1995 until 2003 and was also Director of Public Works.  Mr. Stridick served as a member of the Planning/Zoning Board, the Design District Review Committee, the Merchantville Task Force, Inc., Main Street Merchantville, and the Board of the Perkins Center for the Arts.  Mr. Stridick also wrote Historic Preservation and Planning chapters for Merchantville’s Master Plan.

In addition to his public service, Mr. Stridick has also authored articles on revitalization, preservation and municipal planning that have appeared in publications such as  “Encyclopedia of New Jersey” and the Philadelphia Inquirer Sunday Magazine.  He has served on various panels for groups such as the Urban Land Institute, New Jersey Society of Museums, New Jersey Historic Preservation Plan, and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

In 2004, Mr. Stridick received a citation from Assemblymen Jack Connors and Herb Conaway for “Outstanding Tenure of Public Service.”  That same year he also received a proclamation from Merchantville for “Outstanding Service to the Community.”

Mr. Stridick is a Registered Architect with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design from the University of the Arts / Philadelphia College of Art.
