New Jersey Advisory Commission on the Status of Women (NJACSW)
|
The New Jersey Advisory Commission on the Status of Women (NJACSW) was created in 1974 to act as an advisor and advocate for New Jersey women of all races and creeds. Working with the New Jersey Division on Women, we are committed to addressing the critical concerns and issues confronting New Jersey women.
The NJACSW is a diverse group of dynamic, talented women and is composed of eleven members appointed by the Governor. Each Commission member is committed to raising questions, seeing solutions, supporting initiatives, and providing voluntary service to enhance the lives of women.

The NACW Healthy BONES Project
|
The NACW Healthy BONES Project was inspired by the remarkable work of the Georgia Commission for Women to educate women about the disease of osteoporosis. The Georgia Osteoporosis Initiative, established as a public/private partnership to reduce the incidence of fractures from osteoporosis, has screened over 55,000 individuals in the state. In 2005 the Georgia Commission for Women was the winner of the 2005 Outstanding Achievement Aware for their Osteoporosis Initiative.
In 2006, at the 37th Annual Convention of the National Association of Commissions for Women, the NACW Healthy BONES ( Benefits Of a National Education System) was launched.
