DCA AND DIVISION ON WOMEN HOST SECOND WOMEN’S ENTREPRENEURSHIP SERIES EVENT

Aspiring and Established Women Business Leaders Gather to Boost NJ’s Business

PRINCETON, N.J. – With the goal of spurring more entrepreneurial activity among women in the Garden State, the New Jersey Division on Women today hosted the second of a three-part business entrepreneurship series in recognition of National Small Business Week. The sold-out event drew 200 women from around the state, each with the goal of growing an established business or launching a new one.

“Because small businesses create most of the jobs in the private sector, DCA and the Division on Women wanted to host an event to provide the tools women need to spur their entrepreneurial spirit and put their skills to work for the good of our state,” said Acting Commissioner Richard E. Constable, III. “We want to acknowledge the Lieutenant Governor’s Office and her team over at the Business Action Center who have been great partners throughout this series. I am also proud of our Division on Women and DCA staff, who have worked countless hours to develop this exceptional series.”

Today’s participants heard from a host of experts who provided up-to-date state and national information on business finance and marketing, plus much more. Keynoters included Tracye McDaniel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Choose NJ, and Teri Coaxum, Regional II Advocate of the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Attendees also had the opportunity to interact with presenters and veterans who were there to ‘show them the ropes,’ as well as visit a comprehensive exhibit area featuring organizations and groups committed to entrepreneurship.
