Mission Statement

The Department of Community Affairs is pleased to provide local planning services that create partnerships with communities to develop cost-effective strategies and solutions for the successful achievement of local land use and planning goals.  Our professional multidisciplinary staff offers general land use planning and special project planning services at no cost to local government. Additional details on general planning services are available through the "General Planning Services" link in the Related Links box on the right side of this page.


Housing support services are also available to assist with administration and implementation of the Fair Housing Act.  This includes planning and administrative issues related to municipal participation in the affordable housing programs that are under the jurisdiction of the Council on Affordable Housing (COAH).  Additional details on Fair Housing Act Administration and related services are available through the "Related Links" on the right side of this page.
