The Office of Advocacy provides information and referral services, advocacy support to families, enhance service provision and assist in resolving constituent issues and concerns.  Here are just a few ways the DCF Office of Advocacy can help youth:

  • Answer questions about DCF’s Divisions, Offices, Programs and services
  • Help resolve communication issues with DCF staff
  • Provide information about foster care or adoption services
  • Provide advocacy support to families

One Simple Wish is a national nonprofit that provides basic needs, special requests & exciting experiences through our wish granting program for children and young adults in foster care & those who have aged out of foster care. Wishes can be made through a DCF caseworker or through other social service agencies, churches & schools. Most wishes range in value from $5-$500 and examples include clothing & shoes, assistance with school & employment fees, transportation expenses, small furnishings and home items, tickets to movies & events, sporting equipment, graduation & prom supplies and much more.  For more information visit:
