Independence House, a transitional housing program for homeless youth and foster youth aging out of the child welfare system, welcomes Commissioner Ricketts.   Independence House provides around-the-clock supervision, social workers and a consulting psychologist. Staff teaches youths about cooking, financial literacy, job interviewing and other useful skills to prepare them to become independent adults.
