The Rape Prevention and Education (RPE) Program is a funding stream that  grants and contracts, and provides technical assistance to Sexual Violence Programs (SVP), which implement primary prevention strategies meeting the New Jersey Sexual Violence Primary Prevention Plan's requirements.

RPE funds support SVP's that focus at least 75% of grant activities on policy and social norms change strategies, related coalition building, and community mobilization.  Up to 25% of grant time and resources may be spent on single dose outreach and awareness-raising through: 

  • Training programs for professionals
  • Educational seminars on
  • Preparation of informational materials
  • Education and training programs for college students and campus personnel to reduce the incidence of sexual violence at colleges and universities
  • Education to increase awareness about drugs used to commit sexual violence
  • Efforts to increase awareness of the facts about or to help prevent sexual assault in underserved communities and among individuals with disabilities as defined in Section 3 of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. Section 12102)
