Recycling

Recycling is an important sustainable strategy that takes materials which would otherwise become solid waste and returns them to the economic mainstream in the form of raw materials or products.  In doing this, valuable resources are recovered rather than being lost through disposal.  Recycling not only benefits the environment in many ways, such as in resource conservation, energy savings and greenhouse gas reductions, but it also benefits the economy.  Reduced disposal costs are just part of the picture, as recycling creates jobs and adds greatly to our State and national economy.  Recycling is an integral part of life in New Jersey and a sustainable strategy that all can participate in on a daily basis to the benefit of society.
