The Barnegat Bay Blitz Water Festival was held on Tuesday, June 17 at the North Dover Elementary School in Toms River. (Ms. Rosa Fisher and her fifth grade class designed the barrel that received the most online votes in the 2014 Barnegat Bay Blitz Rain Barrel Challenge.)
Many water-related workshops and programs were held all day for the school's fourth and fifth grade classes while grades preK-3 received a "Wonders of Water" assembly program. Special guests included Woodsy Owl, Smokey Bear and Treeture the Squirrel.
The DEP would like to thank all of the partners and DEP employees who presented programs and helped make the Water Festival an educational, hands-on and memorable program for the students and faculty.
