Barnegat Bay Blitz
May 9, 2012: In spite of the rain that prevented the boy scouts and school groups from participating in the cleanup, your dedication made our effort a great success! We were able to collect 18 bags of garbage, 3 bags of recycling, and 12 bags of dog poop. Some of the more unusual items found were: A Christmas tree ball; Used motor oil; An old glass milk bottle; A muffler; A Four Loco can; Part of a roll bar; Half of a rusted drum; and Ten catering trays. In addition, there were sightings of a skunk, a young fawn, and two voluntarily entangled box turtles. All sure signs of spring!
Thanks again for joining us and helping to make a positive impact on one of New Jersey's treasured state parks.
