Schools taking part in the Barnegat Bay Blitz can prepare their students with lessons that will make it clearer how the bay came to be polluted, and how this can be prevented.
Lessons for all grades are available, some from New Jersey DEP's own Here Today, Here Tomorrow curriculum, some from Washington State's A-Way With Waste, and some from the Genesee County Community Water Quality Consortium. Some lessons are tightly designed for just a few grades, and others are applicable over a wider range of grades. All have been related to New Jersey's Core Curriculum Content Standards.
Teachers can pick and choose among the lessons, finding the ones that are right for each school.
