Updated TWA Engineer's Report Developed
The Division of Water Quality recently updated the Treatment Works Approval (TWA) Engineer's Report form for use with TWA applications involving wastewater collection/conveyance and domestic wastewater treatment and/or residual facilities. The new form, entitled "WQM-006 Engineer's Report for Domestic Treatment Works Approval Applications," incorporates regulatory changes adopted in June 1994 (N.J.A.C. 7:14A-22 and 23) and replaces the existing engineer's report which was last updated in February 1984.
Effective August 1, 1996, all new TWA applications should include the revised WQM-006 Engineer's Report form. For the convenience of those applicants who are in the process of submitting a TWA application, the division will continue to accept the prior version of the Engineer's Report until December 31, 1996. Some of the changes in the revised
WQM-006 Engineer's Report form include:
- Elimination of redundant administrative requirements;
- More emphasis on the technical requirements for gravity sewer systems, including the maximum hydraulic capacity of proposed systems;
- Inclusion of requirements for pumping systems and force mains, including technical requirements for Pump Station Design Reports;
- Inclusion of specific engineer's report requirements for domestic wastewater treatment and/or residual facilities.
The size of the revised WQM-006 Engineer's Report is identical to the previous version; however, it will now include additional technical information, providing for more complete and efficient reviews of TWA submittals. This should help reduce the processing time of TWA applications. If you need a copy of the new WQM-006 Engineer's Report form, please call the Bureau of Construction and Connection Permits at
