DEP to Explain Wastewater Funding Programs at Statewide Meetings

Want to learn more about available state funding for wastewater, stormwater, and nonpoint source control projects? This fall, the Municipal Wastewater Assistance Program will be holding regional meetings throughout the state to explain the importance of maintaining and improving sanitary/stormwater conveyance and treatment systems and how local government units can secure low interest loans for these projects. The meetings have been structured to familiarize municipal officials, consulting engineers, financial planners, general counsels, and bond counsels with the available funding programs.

The first meeting will be held on October 2, 1996, at the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commissioners' offices in Newark. A second meeting is scheduled for October 30, 1996, at the Musconetcong Sewerage Authority's offices in Mount Olive. Meetings for southern locations will be announced at a later date.

For additional information about these meetings, please contact George R. Goldy, Jr., at (609) 984-6840, for southern locations; and Stanley V. Cach, Jr., at (609) 292-6894, for northern locations.
