Comment Period Extended on Water Rules
The DEP has now extended the comment period on the proposed water rules reported in the Spring 1996 issue as follows:
- The New Jersey Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NJPDES) rules, NJAC 7:14A. The comment period for the following portions has been extended to October 4, 1996:
- In their entirety, Subchapter 1, Subchapters 5, 12, and 13.
- Individual sections, NJAC 7:14A-2.12 (water quality studies), NJAC 7:14A-4.5 (Requirements for DSWs), NJAC 7:14A-4.10 (Requirements for DSW applications), NJAC 7:14A-7.4 (Ground water discharge), and NJAC 7:14A-7.5 (ground water permit-by-rule).
The comment period on all remaining portions of the NJPDES proposal closed on August 5, 1996, and has not been extended.
- Surface Water Quality Standards, N.J.A.C. 7:9B. The comment period has been extended to November 4, 1996.
- Statewide Water Quality Management Planning; Water Quality Limited Surface Waters; Total Maximum Daily Loads, N.J.A.C. 7:15. The comment period has been extended to November 4, 1996.
- Water Pollution Control Act/Civil Administrative Penalties and Requests for Adjudicatory Hearings, N.J.A.C. 7:14-8. The comment period has been extended to November 4, 1996, with the exception of NJAC 7:14-8.16 and NJAC 7:14-8.17. The comment period on NJAC 7:14-8.16 and NJAC 7:14-8.17 closed on August 5, 1996, and has not been extended.
