Nominations Sought for Excellence Awards in Industrial Wastewater Treatment and Compliance

Nominations are being accepted for awards in Industrial Wastewater Treatment and Compliance, which will be presented at the New Jersey Water Environment Association's (NJWEA) 1997 annual conference in Atlantic City. The awards are presented to recognize companies that have achieved outstanding performance in some aspect of industrial wastewater treatment and compliance in New Jersey. Previous recipients have included Anheuser-Busch, Epicor, Inc., and DeMaximis, Inc.

The awards are sponsored by the Industrial Environmental Quality Committee of the NJWEA. The award for treatment is presented to an operating company, along with a certificate to the person within the company responsible for the proper operation of the treatment facility. The award for compliance is presented to a company in recognition of compliance with environmental regulations or voluntary environmental improvements.

All facilities being recognized must be in compliance with all regulatory issues over the past twelve months and not be subject to any consent or administrative orders. The following factors, whether individually or in combination, will be used to evaluate the nominees: compliance record, safety record, training, operating efficiency, maintenance excellence, design, innovative technology, waste minimization, and industry-wide applications.

For further information and to submit nominations, please contact Emil Herkert of Killam Associates at (201) 379-3400, or Edward Santoro of William F. Cosulich Associates at (908) 668-4658.
