| A Newsletter About New Jersey's Water Quality Programs |
The Clean Water Raingers is an educational program developed in the Office of Environmental Planning for elementary schoolchildren in grades four through six. The program emphasizes pollution prevention and environmentally responsible behavior by focusing on how individuals can reduce water pollution by making small changes in their daily lives. Clean Water Raingers learn how their actions affect local waterways and what they can do to reduce harmful impacts. Small lifestyle changes such as recycling, cleaning up after pets, and keeping storm drains clean can add up to major improvements in water quality.
Students join the Clean Water Raingers Team after conducting an educational activity listed in a free, informational booklet. Participants also receive pledge cards and stickers. The program is available to teachers, scout leaders, and other youth group organizers. For more information, please contact Kyra Hoffmann, Office of Environmental Planning, at (609) 633-1179.
