A Newsletter About New Jersey's Water Quality Programs

EPA Region 2
Awards Program

EPA is always looking for first-class municipal treatment plants for its regional awards program. This is a great opportunity for you and your staff to get recognized for the time and effort you put into running your facilities. There are nine categories of awards for Operation and Maintenance Excellence and four categories of awards for Beneficial Use of Biosolids (sludge).

There’s no reason why New Jersey’s municipal wastewater treatment plants should take a back seat to the rest of the country. But the state can’t showcase what’s been accomplished unless you submit a Regional application, which could lead to a National Award. In 1996, all four Regional Award winners were nominated for EPA’s National Awards program and all four were selected for National Honors.

Applications will not be available until January 1998, but don’t wait; call the following Regional Coordinators now to ensure you receive an application.

Regional O&M Excellence Awards: John C. Mello at (212) 637-3836
Regional Beneficial Use of Biosolids Awards: Alia Roufaeal at (212) 637-3864
