An automatic renewal provision was incorporated into the Basic General Industrial Stormwater Permit (GP) when it was renewed May 5, 1997. This means that even though the permit is expiring January 31, 2002, facilities currently authorized under this GP do not have to submit a renewal application or new Request for Authorization. When the Department of Environmental Protection renews the permit for the next five years, permittees will automatically receive a permit page with the new expiration date.
