The Heart of Camden is an organization that is dedicated to revitalizing the Waterfront South neighborhood in Camden, NJ, through affordable housing, family and youth services, and economic development. In 2015, the Heart of Camden was the recipient of a photovoltaic system consisting of approximately 100 solar panels.
The Building
The purchase, installation and operation of the photovoltaic system was made possible by the Camden City Municipal Utilities Authority and excess funds from the NJDEP Supplemental Environmental Project at Waterfront South Rain Garden in Camden. Through the use of green energy, the solar panels cut the Heart of Camden’s monthly electricity bill approximately in half.
