Program Activities
The Bureau of Solid & Hazardous Waste Regulation performs the following activities to ensure that solid waste, medical waste and hazardous waste is collected, transported and disposed of in an environmentally acceptable manner and in a competitive marketplace:

Oversees all economic regulation solid waste activities including: |

financial transactions such as mergers, stock transfers, management agreements |

Registers, tracks, and bills medical waste generators |

Reviews Biennial Hazardous Waste Reports |

Maintains data used to identify generators that manage hazardous waste off-site,
and transporters, storage, and disposal facilities which receive or manage hazardous waste in New Jersey |

Administers the licensing (A-901) of companies engaged in the solid /hazardous
waste business |
• |
Manages the screening process for persons seeking an exemption from A-901 |
• |
Registers solid and hazardous waste transporter vehicles and equipment |
