Hooked On Fishing-Not On Drugs Youth Fishing Challenge

January 15, 2016

The Youth Fishing Challenge is a statewide event to promote fishing among youths and their families on Saturday, June 11 - one of New Jersey's two 2016 Free Fishing Days - when no license is required to fish regardless of age. The event is sponsored by the NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife's Hooked On Fishing - Not On Drugs (HOFNOD) program.

Registered youth participants will be eligible to receive prizes for the fish they catch during the event. Youth must be present at the conclusion of the event to win. Those who are lucky enough to catch a "Hook-A-Winner" tagged trout during this event will receive a special prize following the event.

Event locations and registration information will be available after April 1.

Those interested in hosting or volunteering at a HOFNOD Youth Fishing Challenge event should complete and submit a registration form by March 11, 2016.
