The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife will be stocking an additional 300 pheasants for hunting on Saturday, January 28, a result of another excellent production year at the Rockport Pheasant Farm. The birds will be stocked after dark on Friday.
The Division has already stocked 8,000 additional birds to supplement the regular stocking season baseline of 50,000 pheasants. Another 1,000 surplus birds had previously doubled the number of pheasants stocked during the November 5, 2016 Youth Pheasant Hunt.
These additional 300 birds will be distributed on six popular WMAs as follows:
- Clinton - 50
- Flatbrook - 50
- Assunpink - 50
- Colliers Mills - 50
- Millville - 50
- Glassboro - 50
Hunters are reminded that a 2017 license and pheasant/quail stamp are required for pheasant hunting on state WMAs.
