UNCLAIMED FIREARM PERMITS

Deer hunters who wish to obtain a shotgun or muzzleloader permit will be able to purchase unclaimed firearm permits beginning Saturday, November 15. Any deer hunter with a valid 1997 firearm license is eligible to purchase an unclaimed shotgun OR muzzleloader permit for $21.75.

The New Jersey Division of Fish, Game and Wildlife will sell the remaining shotgun and muzzleloader permits on a first come, first served basis. Shotgun and muzzleloader permits are available for the following zones: 1, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 30, 36, 39, 41, 43, 45, 46, 50, 51, 57, 58, 61 and 63. Only shotgun permits are available in zones 38, 53, 56, 59, 60 and 64. Only muzzleloader permits are available in zone 24. Zones 57, 58 and 61 will be sold only at the Nacote Creek Research Station in Port Republic, Atlantic County. Zones 39 and 53 will be sold only at the Assunpink Wildlife Management Area Office in Robbinsville, Monmouth County. Please note that there are less than 30 permits available in zones 43, 51, 53, 57 and 61.

There are less than 10 permits available in the following zones. These permits will be sold at the Division office closest to that zone. Zone 27 will be sold at the Southern Region Office in Sicklerville, Camden County. Zones 21, 50 and 39M will be sold at the Assunpink Wildlife Management Area Office. Zones 57S and 58 will be sold at the Nacote Creek Office.

Permits will be sold between 9 a.m. and 12 noon on Saturday, November 15, at the following Division offices:

All of the above offices will sell permits on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays beginning Monday, November 17, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. In addition, unclaimed permits will be sold on weekdays only between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Division's Trenton office, located at 501 East State Street on the third floor. The Trenton office will not be open on Saturday, November 15.

Persons interested in purchasing unclaimed permits must bring their 1997 firearm hunting license and cash or check for $21.75. It is not necessary for a hunter to appear in person, however, the individual buying the permit must have the hunter's license and the necessary fee. Photocopies will NOT be accepted.
