In-Season Stocking Schedules:

Week 1, April 11 - 15
Week 2, April 18 - 22
Week 3, April 25 - 29
Week 4, May 2 - May 6
Week 5, May 9 - 13
Week 6, May 16 - 20
Week 7, May 23 - 27

Trout Conservation Areas

Note that the following Year Round Trout Conservation Areas are not stocked as frequently as the rest of the stream due to the special regulations (one 15" trout per day, with no harvest allowed during the pre-season and in-season stocking closures that apply to each stream):

Musconetcong River - Point Mountain
Toms River
These stretches are scheduled for stocking during the pre-season period, Week 3 (April 25 - 29), Week 6 (May 16 - 20) and Week 7 (May 23 - 27). The Claremont stretch on the S/Br. Raritan River is not stocked with trout because reproducing populations of brook and brown trout are present and provide a trout fishery.

2016 SPRING TROUT STOCKING CHANGES / UPDATES

5/10/16 - D & R Feeder Canal - Week 7 stocking is moved from Thursday, May 26, to Wednesday, May 25.

3/1/16 - Hamilton Fire Pond (Monmouth Co.) - Dropped from stocking program.

3/1/16 - Hooks Creek Lake (Middlesex Co.) - Returned to programs as salinity levels for trout and other freshwater fish species have returned to suitable levels. The storm surge from Superstorm Sandy in 2012 pushed saltwater from the Atlantic Ocean into the lake resulting in unsuitable salinity levels.

3/1/16 - Trout Brook (Hackettstown, Warren Co.) - Dropped from stocking program.

Any deviations from the stocking schedule will be noted here and on the Trout Hotline (609-633-6765).
