NJ 2000-01 Waterfowl Season Summary

DUCKS - 60 days with compensation for Sundays (60 hunting days)
Daily bag limit: 6 ducks, which may NOT include more than 1 black duck, 1 pintail, 1 canvasback, 2 wood ducks, 2 redheads, 4 mallards (not more than 2 hen mallards), 3 scaup, 4 scoters or 4 bufflehead.

North Zone: Oct. 7 - Oct. 28; Nov. 15 - Jan. 1

South Zone: Oct. 21 - Nov. 4; Nov. 10 - Jan 3

Coastal Zone: Nov. 4 - Nov. 14; Nov. 23 - Jan. 20

CANADA GOOSE -15 days Regular Canada goose season with compensation for Sundays (15 hunting days)
Daily bag limit 1 Canada goose

North Zone: Nov. 18 - Nov. 25; Dec. 23 - Jan. 1
South Zone: Nov. 23 - Dec. 2; Dec 26. - Jan. 1
Coastal Zone: Nov. 23 - Nov. 27; Dec 26. - Jan. 6

September and Winter season
Daily bag limit 5 Canada geese (No permit required)

September Season (Statewide, 30 days): Sept. 1 - Sept. 30
Winter Season (Two Zones, 32 days): Jan. 15 - Feb. 15

ATLANTIC BRANT - 50 days with compensation for Sundays (50 hunting days)
Daily bag limit: 2 Atlantic brant

North Zone: Oct. 12 - Oct. 28; Nov. 23 - Jan. 1
South Zone: Oct. 21 - Nov. 4; Nov. 18 - Dec. 30
Coastal Zone: Nov. 4 - Nov. 14; Nov. 23 - Jan. 9

SNOW GOOSE - 107 days with compensation for Sundays (107 hunting days)
Daily bag limit: 15 snow geese (no possession limit on snow geese)

North Zone: Oct. 7 - Jan. 12; Jan. 15 - Feb. 15
South Zone: Nov. 10 - Mar. 10
Coastal Zone: Oct. 5 - Jan. 20; Jan. 25 - Feb. 9 - Hunting permitted Mon., Thur., Fri. & Sat. Closed Tues., Wed. & Sun.

SEA DUCKS - 107 days with compensation for Sundays (107 hunting days)
Daily bag limit: 7, except no more than 4 may be scoters (in sea duck area)

Sept. 19 - Jan 20

YOUTH WATERFOWL HUNTING DAY - Sept 30, 2000
Daily bag limit for ducks and brant same as regular season. Canada goose limit 5.

RAILS and GALLINULE - (70 days) Sept. 1 - Nov. 9

SNIPE - (107 days) Sept. 22 - Jan. 6

CROWS - Aug. 7 - Mar. 17 (Mon., Thur., Fri. & Sat.)

WOODCOCK - (24 days)

North Zone: Oct. 26 - Nov. 18
South Zone: Nov. 11 - Nov. 25; Dec. 22 - Dec. 30
