Map Description:

To more effectively inform communities reconciling the State Plan Policy Maps to their local vision through the “cross-acceptance” process, we used the State's digital data files in combination with property lines, streets and other County data sets to produce a unique large scale base map and Environmental and Cultural overlay data maps for each of our 40 municipalities and four planning regions (the Evesham Township set was provided as an example.). Our "base" map is a large scale paper map (scale variable to fit the whole municipality on 36 inch roll paper) that displays State Plan map classifications over the digital aerial photograph and property lines within each municipality. Municipal cross-acceptance representatives were invited to "mark up" changes directly on this map. Environmental and Cultural Overlays display NJDEP endangered species habitats, brownfield sites, sewer service areas, dam locations, preserved farms and open space, and cultural and historic sites valuable to municipalities and the public in considering:
how these conditions may affect future development and redevelopment expectations and priorities

needs for future infrastructure investments (including open space and farmland)
