THE REGIONAL HIGHLANDS CENTER AT MOUNT PAUL
The Department of Environmental Protection's Green Acres program has initiated a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the newly acquired State facility to be known as the Regional Highlands Center at Mount Paul or RHC.
The Regional Highlands Center at Mount Paul is nestled within the heart of New Jersey's Highland Region. The area features picturesque rolling terrain, unspoiled woodlands, rocky streams, and upland vistas.
The RFP process seeks to ensure that this site will protect and promote the conservation of some of the Northeast's most remarkable natural resources. The RFP will identify the appropriate management entity/entities to oversee the use and maintenance of the Regional Highlands Center at Mount Paul. A ten–year lease with an additional ten–year renewal option will be awarded to the winning bidder. The winning bidder will lease a 41–acre envelope containing all the improvements, the driveway, two open fields, the lake, and the dam. The remaining 1,133 acres of land that are not included in the lease area will be public parkland managed by the Division of Parks and Forestry out of Kittatinny Valley State Park.
