PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

The bureau assists in the implementation of the Federal Consumer Confidence Report Program pursuant to the 1996 Amendments to the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act. This program incorporates all federal requirements for Consumer Confidence Reports as well as requirements passed by the New Jersey legislature. The bureau tracks compliance with the Consumer Confidence Rules. The bureau refers systems that have not submitted CCRs to the Regional Offices of Water Compliance and Enforcement for the appropriate enforcement action as well as providing education to public water systems and the public in general.
