PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

The Hazardous Discharge Site Remediation Fund (HDSRF), administered jointly by the department and the Economic Development Authority, is a grant and loan program available to public entities for the investigation and cleanup of a suspected or known discharge of a hazardous substance.

The HDSRF is a valuable resource for municipalities and counties to investigate and remediate properties identified as areas in need of redevelopment and to facilitate reuse of brownfield properties.  There are many different types of grants and loans available to public entities as part of the remediation process.

MONETARY ASSISTANCE PROVIDED: 

Monetary assistance in the form of grants and loans up to $5 million are available to municipalities, counties and redevelopment authorities from the HDSRF.  For details, go to www.state.nj.us/dep/srp/finance/hdsrf/
