Recycling Tonnage Grants

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

The New Jersey Statewide Mandatory Source Separation and Recycling Act, specifically N.J.S.A. 13:1E-99.16, mandates each municipality to submit an annual Recycling Tonnage Report summarizing the amount of material recycled during the previous calendar year.

The staff publishes a book of forms and instructions which outlines the submission requirements, history and reference materials.  If requested, the staff will provide a regional grant workshop offering instruction and expertise in the collection and reporting of recycling data for local and county governments.  Requests for the workshops should be coordinated through the county recycling coordinator.

MONETARY ASSISTANCE PROVIDED:

Since its inception, the Recycling Tonnage Grant program has distributed more than $40 million to local government agencies.  The Recycling Tonnage and Reporting Forms and instructions are available on line.

None

PUBLICATIONS AVAILABLE: 

The annual book of forms and instructions of the Recycling Tonnage Grant program is mailed to each municipality in mid-spring on an annual basis.
