ELECTRONIC DATA SUBMITTAL APPLICATION (EDSA)

I. Introduction

This is a readme.txt file that accompanies the Electronic Data Submittal Application , referred to as "EDSA." It provides the latest information on the EDSA as well as installation instructions. Future updates and versions will be distributed via the Site Remediation Program's web page: www.state.nj.us/dep/srp.

The EDSA and all of its associated materials, herein called collectively 'the application,' are copyrighted by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, herein called 'the Department.' The Department is making the application available for use without warranty.

The Department is freely distributing the application for the expressed purpose of assisting regulated entities when submitting data in an electronic format to the Department, as may be required by administrative rule and/or order. The application cannot be sold or distributed by any person or organization for any fee. The application cannot be distributed by any person or any organization without the written consent of the Assistant Commissioner of Site Remediation.

The application is designed to facilitate the electronic submittal of site sampling data to the Department. Any data submitted using the application or any reports produced by the application are only for informational purposes and do not represent the official and valid review of the data by the Department.

II. Installation

Windows 95 Users/CD Install

  1. Insert the CD into the CD drive

  2. Select the "Start" button

  3. Select "Run"

  4. Run "Setup" from the CD drive

  5. The Setup program will begin. Follow the instructions within the Setup program to complete the installation.

Windows 95 Users/Floppy Disk Install

  1. Insert SETUP DISK #1 into the floppy drive

  2. Select the "Start" button

  3. Select "Run"

  4. Run "Setup" from the floppy drive

  5. The Setup program will begin. Follow the instructions within the Setup program to complete the installation.

Windows 95 Users/Internet or Bulletin Board Download Install

  1. Download the EDSA zip file from the web page

  2. Unzip the EDSA zip file into a new subdirectory on the computer's hard drive

  3. Select the "Start" button

  4. Select "Run"

  5. Run "Setup" from the newly created subdirectory

  6. The Setup program will begin. Follow the instructions within the Setup program to complete the installation.

To run the EDSA application itself, double-click the Electronic Data Submittal Application icon when the installation is completed.

Windows NT Users

Users should be aware that the EDSA application is not designed for the Windows NT operating system. Users may try to install the application on computers using the Windows NT operating system, however, the Department does not assume any responsibility if the installation fails, or causes conflicts with operation of the computer or other applications installed on the computer.
