Subject [SRRA] NJDEP seeks stakeholder input for the Remediation Standards Rule readoption

The Department is seeking to develop a defined stakeholder group to provide input to the readoption effort of the remediation standards rule (N.J.A.C. 7:26D). The readoption effort will result in a proposal for soil, ground water, and surface water remediation standards as well as consider among others the development of remediation standards for the vapor intrusion and migration to ground water (formerly impact to ground water) transport pathways and extractable petroleum hydrocarbons.

An initial meeting will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 am, Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Department's Public Hearing Room on the first floor of 401 East State Street, Trenton, New Jersey. The Department's conceptual readoption plan will be presented along with a description of the tentative stakeholder involvement. There will also be a information exchange period where questions and answers will be directed both to and from the Department. The Department intends to request and potentially act upon input received in a series of meetings over the coming months while developing the technical basis for the to be proposed remediation standards.
