Department Launches Off-Site Access Webpage Geared to Property Owners and Tenants

As a companion to the recently posted "Guide to obtaining off-site access" available at www.nj.gov/dep/srp/offsite/, the Department has posted a new webpage, "Providing access to your property," which is designed to help property owners and tenants understand the process when a party conducting remediation requests access to their property as part of an environmental investigation. The webpage emphasizes the importance of allowing the progress of required environmental investigations and explains why it is important to ensure that the nearby residential and commercial properties are not impacted by the environmental contamination. This page will help the public to understand how contamination can migrate through the environment and describes the process of environmental sampling.

The webpage will also be an important tool for local health departments and municipalities who may be contacted by residents that have received access request letters.

To access this webpage, please visit: www.nj.gov/dep/srp/community/access.html

This webpage can also be accessed by visiting www.nj.gov/dep/srp/ community and selecting "Providing access to your property" from the menu.

Please note a link to this webpage has been added to the potable well and vapor intrusion access letters and can be accessed by visiting www.nj.gov/dep/srp/guidance/IEC/ and www.nj.gov/dep/srp/guidance/vaporintrusion/templates/, respectively.
