Public Water System Deficit/Surplus
The Division of Water Supply and Geoscience has created a database to manage each public water system's deficit or surplus (firm capacity and Water Allocation Permit). The database also includes information such as the public water system's available water supply limits, water demand, and firm capacity. A glossary and links to additional information follow the water supply deficit/surplus value for the public water system.
You may access this information for a specific public water system by performing a search below. Enter the PWS Identification Numberin the first slot or select the county in which the system is located in the second slot.

The Permit Extension Act has resurrected expired permits, potentially increasing demand with a resulting decrease in available water supply capacity. This might leave the system with insufficient capacity for existing permitted development, precluding approval of new and pending applications. Data in the deficit/surplus table do not reflect the demand of these resurrected permits unless noted in the Comments section of the demand details page.
The Division of Water Supply and Geoscience aims to update this database monthly, but given possible interim changes, water supply decisions should not be made solely on this information (contact 609-292-2957). |
