How to Find Public Information About Financial Institutions

Various types of financial institutions (banks, savings banks, savings and loan institutions, credit unions, etc.) are regulated by different governmental agencies.

The NJ Department of Banking and Insurance - Division of Banking regulates state-chartered banks, savings banks, savings and loan institutions and credit unions, and may take enforcement action against these institutions in the event any violations of banking law or regulations are found.

The Division maintains a listing including addresses, phone numbers, holding company names (where applicable) and links to institution and primary regulator web sites.
